Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ)

The MLZ is one of the world-leading centres for research with neutrons and positrons, where Big Science and University merge. At the MLZ, 26 neutron instruments are available for the user programme and a new hall with an additional 5 neutron instruments is under construction. With up to 4 reactor cycles per year, MLZ welcomes up to 1,200 users annually and produces around 300 public actions per year; its instruments perform more than 4000 days of experiments per year. MLZ is not only a neutron source with state-of-the-art instrumentation for the exploitation of neutron beams but offers an advanced scientific collaboration in diverse fields such as physics, biology, earth science, engineering and material sciences.
